Maintenance of Olive Wood

Maintenance of Olive Wood

For optimal olive wood maintenance, clean the product regularly with a slightly damp cloth. Olive wood is water-repellent and particularly hygienic due to the natural oils. To protect the products from drying out and cracking, use olive oil or wood wax, ideal for olive wood kitchen utensils and accessories. Treat your olive wood products twice a year with wood oil or wood wax (normal olive oil is also allowed.) Wood wax prevents odors from penetrating the wood, wood oil reduces the risk of cracks. Olive wood items should not be placed in the dishwasher or left in water for long periods of time. The olive wood should be cleaned with a soft brush, lukewarm water and soap before first use.
